About the Organisation

Odisha Rising Foundation (ORF) is a non-profit organisation committed to the empowerment and inclusive development of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and Children with Special Needs (CwSN) across Odisha. Our efforts are focused on enhancing access to education, skills, livelihoods, and social inclusion through innovative and collaborative initiatives. This Divyangjan website is an initiative of Odisha Rising Foundation, developed to create accessible employment opportunities and support systems for Persons with Disabilities. Our Chairman, Shri Akhaya Sagar, received the State Award from the Department in 2024 for his contribution to the welfare and rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in Odisha.

Mission

To empower Persons with Disabilities and Children with Special Needs by creating accessible opportunities in education, skill development, employment, and social participation, enabling them to lead independent and dignified lives.

Vision

To create an inclusive society where every person with a disability has equal opportunities to thrive, contribute, and achieve their full potential.

The Problem

Despite the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (RPwD Act, 2016) mandating 4% reservation in government jobs and requiring private employers to provide equal opportunities, the reality on the ground in Odisha remains bleak.

No Central Platform

There is no dedicated, accessible, disability-focused job portal for Odisha — until now.

Employer Awareness Gap

Most employers are unaware of legal obligations, available incentives, or the talent pool they are missing.

Access Barriers

Distance, transport, and inaccessible hiring processes prevent qualified Dibyangjan from reaching employers.

Documentation Hurdles

UDID registration, PWD certificates, and application processes remain complex without guidance.

Our Response

1

Verified Job Listings

Every job posted is verified for inclusion — employers must declare disability types welcome, accommodations provided, and compliance with the RPwD Act before a listing goes live.

2

Fully Accessible Platform

Built from the ground up with 14 accessibility features — read aloud, high contrast, dyslexia font, keyboard navigation, screen reader support, sign language guides, and more.

3

Human-Assisted Applications

For Dibyangjan who need help, a real person is available via WhatsApp or email to guide them through finding a job and completing their application.

4

Employer Education & Compliance

We educate employers on RPwD Act obligations, available government incentives for inclusive hiring, and best practices for workplace accommodation.

Every Dibyangjan deserves a fair chance at dignified employment — not charity, not pity, but a verified job that matches their skills, offered by an employer who has committed to inclusion.
